Aquadopps are becoming smaller

As part of an engineering effort that lasted for all of 2007, the circuit board inside the Aquadopp and the Aquadopp profiler has shrunk by about 10 cm (4 in). As a result, it is possible to fit the instrument inside smaller spaces and it is easier to integrate the instruments in OEM applications.

Aquadopps are becoming smaller

The standard "Paradopp" board (upper) and the new "midlife" board (lower)

The new board has the same functionality as the older, longer boards and has been extensively tested to ensure that it provides data of the same quality and integrity.  We refer to the new boards as a "midlife" upgrade to ensure producibility and conformance with international directives for lead-free production (RoHS).

At this point, the new boards are being phased into production and we have already started shipping the 2 MHz Aquadopp profiler with the new board.  Because the board is shorter we have been able to double the battery capacity when using the same canister. Using the standard Deployment Planning section in the software you can then plan the deployment for a maximum battery capacity of 200% instead of the usual 100%.  Double the fun with no added price, so to speak.
