Vectrino, internal sampling rate, Low-Pass Filter?

Posted by Frank Seidel at November 17. 2008

Hi,

we work with a vectino in a model flume and want to analyse the velocity fluctation in one point. Therefore we want to analyse the signal with a fourier transformation. We do not have the Vectrino+ Fimrware.

My questions:

- At what rate is the internal data collection?

- Is a low-pass filter aplied?

Thanks for your help...

Frank

Dear Frank

1) There is no internal filtering -- but the internal averaging isn't block averaging quite the same way you just add numbers together and divide by the number of samples.  Instead, the internal averaging is done in a vectorial format.  Hmmm -- it probably comes out to be about the same as far as your question is concerned.

2) Internal sampling rate: Read all about it here - http://www.nortek-as.com/forum/velocimeters/30181037#257022848

Best regards, Atle Lohrmann
