Vector data conversion

Hello,
for the processing of Vector data we usually convert the recorded data to ascii format using the Vector software.
I have noticed, however, that the precision of the original data is one decimal digit better if I convert the data from the binary files using my own script.
Is there a way to get the full data precision using Nortek software?
thank you and best regards,
Andreas

Hi, the resolution of the velocity data changes as you change the velocity setting in the Vector (varies between mm/s and 1/10 of mm/s). Could it be that you have looked at two different files when you say that the resolution is different

Hi Atle,
No, I was not looking at two different files.
But, indeed I was using the 1/10 mm/s scaling. This is stated in the header file (*.hdr) for the data conversion as well. The velocity data in the corresponding *.dat file, however, are given in m/s with a precision of 3 digits (scaling and units of the velocity data are correct, but the 1/10 mm/s desimal digit is not available in the *.dat file).
cheers,
Andreas

Hello Andreas,
I suspect you might be using an old version of the Vector software. The velocity data precision was increased to 4 digits in Version 1.28. Please download from our support pages.
Best regards,
Oistein
