Distance to bottom

When using the HR Profiler in a downward-looking mode near the bottom (~1 m away), it is important to set the expected distance from the HR Profiler to the bottom. This sets the lag length so that there are no reflection problems.
How sensitive is this setting? If the bottom position changes during a long-term deployment, could there be problems with reflections? Is there a way to be conservative in the setting?
Thanks!

Hi Eric,
There is not much margin in the setting of the expected distance before you will start to get problems with reflections. The reason for this is that we try to achieve the highest possible velocity range for the given distance.
A conservative approach is to set the expected distance to the bottom to a larger value.
Best regards,
Sven Nylund
