New Nortek forum

As part of our new WEB site, which is based on the "Plone" open source program, we have installed "Ploneboard" as a means of continuing our tradition of providing an open forum where people can ask questions or make comments about their Nortek instrumentation.  We were able to import almost all of the postings (over 1000!) that you had made at the "Ikonboard" we established back in 2002 so most of older information has been preserved.  The exception is graphics and some attachments which we thought time had made irrelevant.

The advantage of moving to "Ploneboard" is that the functionality is integrated with rest of the WEB site.  Among other things, this means that you can register with a single user name/password to be used both for posting and for downloading the latest firmware and software in the support section.  If you already have made a posting, you can find your user name in the posting.  If you login with this user name (as opposed to your full name) you should find that your old password is still valid.  If you can't make it work, please just register a new user that you can use for future postings.

The disadvantage of using "Ploneboard" is that the editing function is somewhat less developed, it is not quite WYSIWYG, and alignments leaves a little to be desired.  We are also working to improve the search function (now available on the main page of the Nortek forum).  Still, these are things that will improve over the next couple of weeks so please do let any of this discourage you to from posting. 

For those of us who administer the system, stopping spam was a major issue when going to Ploneboard.  Personally, I must admit that the thought of being able to start day without first having to delete explicit sex scenes is quite encouraging.

Some of the issues with the forum posting have now been fixed.  Please let us know if there is anything that is not working properly.
