Dear all members,

I am working in ship board adcp program. I calculated the speed and direction from the u,v values. But my doubt is how i  will analyze  currents  from these  two values. Please send me suggestions about my problem.

In general, it is difficult to perform any form of analyses on speed and direction values.  I am not quite sure why, but one problem of course is that they are non-linear values.

Dear Srinivas

It really depends on what you aim to accomplish. My suggestion is to search a place like amazon.com for books on oceanography and ocean currents.  They have the litterature you may be looking for.
