Matrix Transformation

Posted by Osvaldo Artal at May 08. 2012

Dear

I have a vector. I have taken measurements using XYZ as coordinate system.

In the hdr file I have a matrix of transformation [ 2.7161 -1.3474 -1.3687 ;  0.0129 2.3462 -2.3567 ; 0.3438 0.3411 0.3464]. Is this matrix used for calculate the velocities in the XYZ system ? or, this matrix can be used for calculation from XYZ to ENU system?. This matrix is divided by 4096?

Thanks in advance

Osvaldo Artal

Hi Osvaldo,

The transformation matrix in the header goes from beam to XYZ coordinate systems. Please search for "coordinate transformation" for numerous posts on this and how to use it.

To calculate ENU velocities you do need this matrix, but it is used to go from beam to XYZ velocities, where heading pitch and roll corrections are applied to go from XYZ to ENU.
