Synchronisation of transmit pulses in multiple Vectrinos
Firmware version V1.30 Plus supports synchronisation of transmit pulses to avoid both electric and acoustic interference when operating several Vectrinos together. This feature is only available in the Plus version. The firmware can be downloaded from our support page.
The attached image shows how to set up two units for transmit on sync. The sync configuration must be exactly as shown. When synchronising even more Vectrinos, all slaves must follow the attached sync configuration. The sampling rate and velocity range can of course be altered, but these two parameters are constrained to be identical for all units.

Hi Sven,
With this type of sync configuration, does it allow you to place multiple Vectrino probes in very close proximity (say, nearly touching) without interference?

Re: Synchronisation of transmit pulses in multiple Vectrinos
Hi
We have checked that there is no interference between Vectrinos once they are properly synchronized but we have not tested how close apart they can be during operation. An intelligent guess is that they should be at least 5-10 cm apart to avoid acoustic interference.

Re: Synchronisation of transmit pulses in multiple Vectrinos
Hi Sven,
Does the synchronization work or sample rates above 100 Hz? We tried this using the setup above and got checksum errors on the secondary Vectrino for anything above 100 Hz.

Vacation time here in Norway. Any chance that this could be related to the PC software? Baud rate is high enough?
Best regards, Atle
