Re: Aquadop discard cells

Dear Atle,

I am using for the first time Aquadop profiler in coastal zone,
the profile of amplitude decays with distance from the bottom, with a spike corresponding to the reflection from the surface.
I want to discard the 4-5 cells prior the surface. What do you think?

Dear Carmelo, as a quick and dirty rule, the last 10% of the water column is invalid + one cell.  So if the water depth is 10 m and you have 0.5 m cells, I would suggest you remove the three topmost cells, starting from the cell that actually hits the surface and going down toward the bottom.

All this can now be done automatically with the Nortek software called "Surge".
