Vectrino mounting in the field

Vectrino mounting in the field

Posted by Zack Darnell at June 03. 2010

We recently purchased a Vectrino to use both in the laboratory (in a small recirculating flume) and in the field (shallow water, primarily seagrass beds). I am looking into possible mounting options for use in the field, and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions? We will be doing fairly short  measurements, <5 minutes. We need to have vertical adjustment for doing profiles, but horizontal adjustment is not really necessary.

Any pictures of frames you have used, tips, or suggestions, would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

You should contact my colleague at Stanford, Jeff Koseff. They have done several field deployments in Florida Bay seagrass using Vectrinos and have built a frame that does exactly what you describe.

Thanks for the info. I just sent him an email.
